- Antenna: To receive the radio signal.
- Tuned Circuit (LC circuit): This filters the received signal to a specific frequency.
- Inductor (L1)
- Variable Capacitor (C1)
- Diode (D1): For signal detection (demodulation).
- Capacitor (C2): For filtering out high-frequency noise.
- Resistor (R1): For setting the bias current.
- Audio Amplifier (or transistor Q1 and a speaker): To amplify the demodulated audio signal.
- Speaker or Earphones: To output the audio.
Basic Setup:- Antenna: Connect the antenna to one side of the tuned circuit $L1$ and $C1$.
- Tuned Circuit: Connect one end of the inductor L1 to the antenna and the other end to C1 and the ground.
- Diode: Connect the anode of D1 to the tap between L1 and C1. Connect the cathode to a junction between C2, R1, and the audio amplifier.
- Capacitor (C2): Connect C2 parallel to the diode to ground to filter high frequencies.
- Resistor (R1): Connect R1 in series with the diode and the input of the audio amplifier.
- Audio Amplifier: Connect the output of R1 to the base of Q1 or the input of an audio amplifier module.
- Speaker: Connect the output of the amplifier to the speaker.
