Design and implement a low-power consumer temperature and humidity sensor node that integrates a digital temperature/relative humidity sensor with an ultra-low-power MCU featuring integrated Wi-Fi and Bluetooth (2.4 GHz 802.11 b/g/n and BLE 5.x). The design utilizes a USB-C receptacle as the 5 V power source and includes input protection and power-path circuitry such as reverse polarity protection, over-voltage protection, under-voltage lockout, and over-current protection. The circuit should support USB-C source capabilities from 0.5 A up to 3 A, targeting consumer-grade environmental sensing applications.

#Implementation plan

Define System Architecture
1. Document the high-level block diagram including the MCU, digital sensor, and USB-C power input with protection circuitry.
2. Update the project description with system functional goals and power-path requirements.
Add and Configure Key Components
1. Select and add an ultra-low-power MCU with integrated Wi-Fi/BLE that supports 2.4 GHz 802.11 b/g/n and BLE 5.x from the Flux parts library.
2. Select and add a digital temperature/humidity sensor with I²C or digital interface.
3. Add additional active and support components needed for low-power operation and wireless connectivity.
Implement USB-C Power and Protection Circuitry
1. Add a USB-C receptacle for 5 V input and configure its connection to the power subsystem.
2. Implement input protection circuits including:
  1. Reverse polarity protection circuit
  2. Over-voltage protection circuit
  3. Under-voltage lockout circuit
  4. Over-current protection circuit
3. Ensure the design supports USB-C source capabilities from 0.5 A to 3 A by configuring the power path appropriately.
Make Connections and Support Circuitry
1. Connect the digital sensor to the MCU ensuring proper digital interface connection (I²C, SPI or other as required).
2. Integrate onboard voltage regulators and filtering components to deliver stable voltage rails for low-power operation.
3. Establish programming and debug interfaces for the MCU.
Schematic Review
1. Verify that all protection and power management requirements are met.
2. Review interconnections between the MCU, sensor, and power circuitry to ensure functionality and low-power operation.
3. Save the completed schematic for subsequent PCB layout design.
