Part Metadata Review and Audit

I reviewed the part metadata, searched for the official datasheet, updated the missing Datasheet URL, and compared the current symbol/footprint against the datasheet-driven expectations described in the part-sync workflow
What I updated
  • Set Datasheet URL to the official Adam Tech PDF:

Key specs I could confirm from the datasheet
From the official PDF I was able to extract these reliably:
  • USB Type-C female/receptacle
  • Vertical orientation
  • SMT style
  • 24 signal contacts
  • 0.50 mm contact pitch
  • 4 SMT shell tabs
  • Shell is tied to GND
  • Recommended layout shows no mounting holes
  • Approximate body dimensions called out include about 9.10 mm width and 13.30 mm body depth
I could not reliably extract the electrical ratings text block from the PDF with the available parser, so I’m not going to guess values like current rating or dielectric rating.
Cross-check results 1) Project properties
  • Manufacturer Name and Manufacturer Part Number look consistent.
  • Datasheet URL was missing and is now set.
  • Package or Case Code is still missing. The workflow recommends keeping exact package/case metadata aligned to the datasheet/property schema
  • No populated description was found.
2) Symbol / pin audit
Good:
  • The symbol includes the expected USB-C signal pins A1-A12 and B1-B12.
  • Shell pins are represented separately, which is directionally correct because the datasheet calls out shell tied to ground.
Problems:
  • All terminals currently have Pin Type = Unspecified. That is a mismatch versus a datasheet-synced part, where pin types should be classified exactly from the datasheet rather than left generic
  • I did not find Pin Description properties on the terminals. The sync workflow expects short per-pin descriptions when available
  • Because of that, key pin intent is not encoded today:
    • CC pins are not identified as configuration pins
    • D+/D- pins are not described
    • SuperSpeed TX/RX pins are not described
    • VBUS / GND / shield roles are not formally typed
3) Footprint audit
This is the biggest issue.
Datasheet footprint expectation:
  • 24 signal pads
  • 4 shell tabs
  • No mounting holes
Current project footprint:
  • 30 terminals / 30 pads
  • Includes two extra mounting-hole style terminals: MH_1 and MH_2
Mismatch flagged
  • Pad-count mismatch: datasheet indicates 28 total electrical/mechanical pads, project has 30.
  • The extra count appears to come from MH_1 and MH_2.
  • That strongly suggests either:
    • the footprint imported two non-datasheet mounting features, or
    • two shell/mechanical features were split/labeled differently than the datasheet intends.

Datasheet URLFixedOfficial PDF added
Symbol pin namesMostly OKA/B pin naming looks consistent
Pin countMismatchProject has 30, datasheet footprint implies 28
Shell handlingPartialShell exists, but extra MH terminals are suspicious
Pin typesMismatchAll terminals are Unspecified
Pin descriptionsMissingNo short functional descriptions found
Footprint styleLikely OKVertical SMT Type-C is consistent
Footprint exact geometryPartially checkedCount/style aligns except for extra MH pads
Recommended next actions
  • Remove or reclassify the two extra mounting-hole terminals if they are not actually present in the datasheet footprint.
  • Set proper pin types and short pin descriptions for all terminals, per the datasheet-sync workflow
  • Add Package or Case Code and a concise project description using the exact property conventions to avoid duplicate metadata fields
If you want, I can do the next pass and:
  • classify all pin types,
  • add pin descriptions,
  • and resolve the MH_1 / MH_2 footprint mismatch.
