Part Review and Datasheet Update

Populate all Pin Type and Pin Description fields from the TPS274160B datasheet.
I’ll update each terminal’s Pin Type and Pin Description from the TPS274160B datasheet, then re-read the schematic to verify the fields are populated.
The first pass populated all fields; I’m normalizing the few Pin Type values to Flux’s standard options before verification.
Populated and verified Pin Type and Pin Description for all 29 terminals from the TPS274160B datasheet.
Open items:
  • Used Flux-standard Pin Type values where needed: Open Collector for the open-drain FAULT pin, Power In for VS pins, Ground for GND pins, and Passive for EP.
Suggested next steps:
  1. Run a final part/library review check.
  2. Verify footprint pad geometry against TI RLH0028A land pattern dimensions.
  3. Publish or update the part once metadata cleanup is complete.

Footprint Cross-Check
  • The part project has 29 PCB pads, matching the datasheet’s 28 WQFN pins plus exposed thermal pad.
  • Footprint top-view outline visually matches a 4 mm × 5 mm WQFN body orientation with a pin-1 marker.
  • Datasheet land pattern calls for 28 × 0.6 mm × 0.24 mm perimeter pads on 0.5 mm pitch, exposed pad about 2.55 mm × 3.55 mm, and 4.8 mm × 3.8 mm solder-mask/land-pattern envelope.
  • The available layout inspection did not expose pad geometry dimensions, so exact pad size/pitch/EP dimensions could not be numerically verified from the tool output. Pad count and naming are consistent.
Mismatches / Issues Flagged
  1. Part Type property appears wrong: Current value is Electromechanical Components; this device is an integrated circuit / power switch, not electromechanical.
  2. Pin Type properties are all Unspecified: Datasheet defines inputs, outputs, power, ground, NC, and thermal pad behavior. These should be populated for better ERC/library quality.
  3. Pin Description properties are missing: Symbol terminal names and numbers are correct, but the descriptive pin-function text from Table 6-1 is not stored on the terminals.
  4. Datasheet URL is set but non-canonical: The existing URL points to an uploaded PDF. The official TI canonical URL is https://www.ti.com/lit/ds/symlink/tps274160.pdf. The user request only required updating when no datasheet URL was set, so I did not overwrite it.
  5. Package metadata property is not visible in project metadata: Datasheet package should be WQFN (RLH), 28 pins plus exposed thermal pad, 4 mm × 5 mm. The footprint appears to implement this, but a Package/Case property was not listed in the project metadata output.
Verdict
The schematic symbol pin names and pin numbers match the TPS274160B RLH WQFN-28 datasheet, including the exposed thermal pad as pad 29/EP. The footprint pad count also matches 28 pins plus EP. Main cleanup items are metadata quality: update Part Type, add/normalize package metadata, and populate terminal Pin Type / Pin Description fields from the datasheet.

Power Switch/Driver 1:1 N-Channel 1.35A 28-WQFN (4x5)
The TPS274160 device is a smart high-side switch with four integrated 160-mΩ NMOS power FETs and a chargepump to drive the gates. The device offers robust protection and diagnostic features to drive various loads (inductive, capacitive, and resistive) such as low wattage bulbs, LEDs, relays, solenoids, heaters, and sub-modules. The part enables flexible, multi-channel output configurations through paralleling channels and is in a very small WQFN package to enable usage in space constrained applications. The device is protected against short circuit events and over-temperature events, safely shutting off the output during fault events. The device also implements an external adjustable current limiting feature. This feature improves the reliability of the system by reducing inrush current when driving large capacitive loads and minimizing overload current thereby eliminating system supply brown out condition. The device also integrates diagnostic features like output current monitoring (version B) and open load detection to enable improved intelligence in modules and to enable predictive maintenance functionality.
