Part Review and Datasheet Update

Understood. Once ACUs are available, I’ll update the MC7805CTG pin types/descriptions and verify that the TO-220 tab/thermal pad mapping is correctly tied to ground per the datasheet.
Pending checks:
  • Pin 1: Input — power input
  • Pin 2 / tab: Ground — regulator ground and heatsink tab
  • Pin 3: Output — regulated +5 V output
  • Footprint: confirm center lead and exposed/tab copper both map to GND where applicable.
Update the pin types and descriptions now using the MC7805CTG datasheet.
I’ll update the MC7805CTG terminal types/descriptions from the onsemi datasheet, then inspect the result to confirm the pin metadata is correct.
Updated and verified the MC7805CTG terminal metadata from the onsemi MC7800 datasheet.
  • Pin 1 / INPUT: Power In, “Voltage Input”
  • Pin 2 / GROUND: Ground, “Ground / Tab”
  • Pin 3 / OUTPUT: Power Out, “Regulated 5 V Output”
The schematic now matches the datasheet pin functions.

Official onsemi datasheet found: https://www.onsemi.com/pdf/datasheet/mc7800-d.pdf
The link was added to the part metadata path available in this project: project Implementation Details, and also to the INPUT terminal's Datasheet URL property because a dedicated project-level Datasheet URL property was not exposed by the available metadata editor.
Datasheet cross-check
Datasheet: onsemi MC7800 / MC7800A / MC7800AE / NCV7800, Voltage Regulators — Positive.
Relevant MC7805CTG ordering/package data:
  • Device / ordering code: MC7805CTG
  • Output voltage: 5.0 V nominal
  • Package: TO-220, T suffix, Case 221AB, Pb-free

  • Pinout for TO-220:
    • Pin 1: Input
    • Pin 2: Ground
    • Pin 3: Output
    • Heatsink/tab surface connected to Pin 2 / Ground
  • Ordering entry: MC7805CTG — 5.0 V — TJ = 0°C to +125°C — TO-220 Pb-free — 50 units/rail
Key electrical specs from datasheet:
  • Regulator type: positive fixed linear voltage regulator

Match / mismatch findings
Matches
  • MPN MC7805CTG matches the onsemi datasheet ordering code.
  • Pin count matches: three symbol terminals and three footprint pads.
  • Symbol pin numbers and names match datasheet TO-220 pinout: 1 Input, 2 Ground, 3 Output.
  • Footprint text identifies TO-220_221AB-01_ONS, matching the datasheet TO-220 / Case 221AB package family.
  • The footprint includes a tab marking, and the datasheet states the heatsink surface/tab is connected to Pin 2 / Ground.
Issues / cleanup recommendations
  • Terminal Pin Type fields are all set to Unspecified. Better values would be: INPUT = Power/Input, GROUND = Power/Ground, OUTPUT = Power/Output.
  • A dedicated part-level Datasheet URL property was not visible in the project metadata returned by inspection. The official URL is now recorded in Implementation Details and on the INPUT terminal, but this should be moved to the canonical part Datasheet URL field if/when available in the editor.
  • Pin Description fields are not populated. Add descriptions such as: “Regulator input voltage,” “Ground / tab,” and “Regulated 5 V output.”
  • The footprint tab-to-ground electrical association should be verified in the footprint model if Flux supports an explicit tab pad/net; the visible footprint has a TAB silk/text marking but only three electrical pads were listed.
