U2 is an integrated circuit with the part number MAX2606EUT+T from Maxim Integrated Products, Inc. It is a high-performance intermediate frequency (IF) voltage-controlled oscillator (VCO) specifically designed for demanding portable wireless communication systems.

The VCO part of the U2 takes in a voltage input and generates a signal with a frequency corresponding to that voltage, in the range of 45 MHz to 650 MHz.
