Part Data Review and Validation

I’ll review the part metadata, find and set the official datasheet URL if needed, then compare the symbol, footprint, and pin descriptions against the datasheet and report any mismatches.
I found the official TE product specification and added it as the Datasheet URL. I’m now checking the current symbol/footprint data against the TE specs and Flux library metadata.
Completed the review and added the official TE Connectivity Product Specification as the part’s Datasheet URL. I documented the full findings in part-review-te-connectivity-1734451-1.
Open items flagged:
  • Part subtype is incorrectly listed as RF / Coaxial instead of CompactFlash / memory card connector.
  • Pin descriptions are missing.
  • Imported availability text says “In Stock,” but TE lists the part as obsolete.
  • Footprint has extra unnumbered hold-down pads and S1/S2 symbol overlap should be reviewed.

Symbol review
  • The symbol contains terminals for pins 1–50 and shield/mechanical terminals S1 and S2.
  • Pin type is set to Passive for all terminals, which is acceptable for a connector.
  • Pin descriptions are not populated. For this style of connector, pin descriptions should ideally reflect the CompactFlash interface pin functions, not just pin numbers, if the part is intended for direct schematic use.
  • Symbol positioning separates pins 1–25 on the left and pins 26–50 on the right, matching a two-row 50-position connector conceptually.
  • S1 and S2 overlap at the same symbol coordinate, which may be acceptable if they are treated as duplicated shield/mechanical terminals, but it makes the symbol less readable.
Footprint review
  • The footprint has 50 numbered pads plus two S pads, consistent with the symbol terminal count.
  • The layout also includes 6 additional unnumbered mount/hold-down pads. TE lists a hold-down assembly feature, so additional mechanical pads are expected; however, these pads are not represented as schematic terminals.
  • The visible footprint outline is approximately 47.3 mm wide by 26.5 mm deep from silk/fab geometry, consistent with a large right-angle CF card connector form factor.
  • The footprint appears to include a pin-1 marking near the left side.
  • I could not fully validate every pad coordinate against the TE mechanical drawing because the PDF extraction/search failed on the official document; the high-level pad count and mechanical concept match.
Mismatches / issues flagged
  1. Datasheet URL was empty — fixed by adding the official TE Product Specification URL.
  2. Flux part subtype appears wrong — library metadata reports RF / Coaxial Connectors, but TE identifies this as a CompactFlash / memory card connector.
  3. Pin descriptions are missing — pins only have pin numbers and Passive type; no CompactFlash signal names or functional descriptions are present.
  4. Lifecycle/status mismatch in description — imported description says “In Stock,” while TE lists the product as obsolete / not currently available.
  5. Mechanical mount pads are unnumbered — footprint includes 6 unnumbered hold-down/mount pads not represented in the symbol. This may be acceptable for non-electrical mechanical pads, but should be intentionally documented or tied to shield/chassis ground if electrically relevant.
  6. S1/S2 symbol overlap — both shield terminals share the same symbol position, reducing readability.
Verdict
The part is broadly consistent as a 50-position right-angle SMT CompactFlash connector with extra shield/mechanical pads, but metadata quality needs cleanup. The most important remaining corrections are updating connector subtype/category, adding CompactFlash pin descriptions, reconciling lifecycle/availability text, and confirming the detailed footprint dimensions against the TE mechanical drawing if this part will be manufactured.
