La placa se ha diseñado para funcionar como un escudo (shield) para el Arduino Uno R3, manteniendo el pinout oficial que posibilita la conexión directa con el microcontrolador y su placa base. En resumen:
  • Interfaz Arduino:
    La Shield incorpora el contorno y la distribución de pines del Arduino Uno R3, lo que te permite acceder a los pines digitales, analógicos, y a funciones alternativas (por ejemplo, SDA y SCL para I²C) que el Arduino proporciona.
  • Conversión RS485:
    Está integrado el transceptor IC1, el cual convierte las señales TTL del Arduino en señales diferenciales RS485. Esto es ideal para lograr comunicaciones robustas en entornos ruidosos o para aplicaciones que requieran transmisión de datos a largas distancias.
  • Conectividad y Alimentación:
    La placa dispone de conectores (screw terminal blocks, headers, etc.) que aseguran una correcta conexión de la alimentación (por ejemplo, 5V y 3.3V) y de las señales, permitiendo la integración de otros módulos o dispositivos externos.
  • Diseño del PCB:
    Se encuentra el modelo 3D del Arduino Uno R3 junto con el contorno definido en la silkscreen, lo que ayuda durante el montaje y verificación física del escudo sobre el Arduino.
En conjunto, el diseño permite aprovechar la funcionalidad del Arduino combinada con la capacidad de comunicación RS485, ideal para aplicaciones de control industrial o redes de comunicación robustas.
