  • Added core modules: U1, U2, GPS1, U3
  • Added power + monitor hardware: J1 (LiPo connector), S1 (slide switch), divider R3/R4 to U1 A0
  • Added required passives (all 0603): I2C pullups R1/R2 (4.7kΩ), decoupling C1/C2 (10uF)
  • Wired buses + power:
    • I2C: U1 D4/D5 to U2 + GPS1 with shared pullups R1/R2 to 3V3
    • SPI to microSD: U1 -> U3, with 22Ω series resistors R5/R6/R7
  • Set PCB outline size: Root node 35.0 mm x 25.0 mm
  • Saved + messaged the Mermaid system architecture (project property “System Architecture”)
Success criteria review
  • ✅ All modules added and functionally connected: U1, U2, GPS1, U3
  • ✅ Board size set to 35 x 25 mm
  • ✅ Required pull-ups present: R1, R2 = 4.7kΩ
  • ✅ GNSS/IMU decoupling present: C1, C2 = 10uF
  • ❌ Passive footprint compliance not fully verified: layout data shows some other footprints (0402 items) exist in the PCB layout database; we need to confirm they are not part of this project’s placed components, or remove/replace if they are.
Next steps
  • I can run a full BOM + footprint audit and fix any non-0603 passives (remove/replace to 0603). Tell me if you want all passives forced to 0603 even if the footprint already exists differently in the library part.
