Below is a suggested schematic update that implements a compact power management block to ensure a robust 3.3 V supply with the ability to "amplify" current for your modules:
Proposed Power Management Block
3.3 V Regulator:
Use a dedicated 3.3 V regulator (for example, AMS1117-3.3) to deliver a stable 3.3 V output.
Decoupling: Add appropriate input and output decoupling capacitors (e.g., 10µF and 0.1µF) for proper filtering and transient response.
Current Boost Stage:
To provide extra current drive capability, integrate a transistor amplifier stage using a Darlington transistor such as TIP120.
Configuration:
Base Connection: Connect the regulator’s 3.3 V output to the base of the TIP120 through a current-limiting resistor (suggest ~1 kΩ).
Collector & Emitter: The collector is fed by the 3.3 V rail and the emitter provides the boosted output; the emitter then supplies your ESP32-WROOM-32, ADS1299, and STM32F746NG modules.
Additional Decoupling: Add bypass capacitors near the transistor to ensure stability during high-current transients.
Design Considerations:
Ensure the entire power block is designed within the nano (compact) circuit area of your PCB.
Aim for a design supporting up to 300-500 mA, offering a safety margin for transients and additional peripheral circuitry.
This nano power management circuit will generate a clean 3.3 V rail and use a transistor-based pass stage to “amplify” current, ensuring that your Bluetooth, EEG acquisition, and high-performance graphics modules are powered reliably.
