Temperature and Humidity Sensor Node Design

I’m blocked because the project has no remaining execution credits, so I can’t modify the schematic or call design tools right now.
Current project state:
  • No components have been added.
  • No nets or schematic wiring exist yet.
  • The project is still an empty draft.
Recommended design direction when execution is available:
  • MCU/radio: ultra-low-power Wi-Fi + BLE 5.x module, likely ESP32-C6 / ESP32-C3 class depending on BLE/Wi-Fi requirements.
  • Sensor: digital temperature/humidity sensor over I²C, e.g. Sensirion SHT4x/SHTC3-class device.
  • USB-C input: USB-C receptacle configured for 5 V sink/default current with CC pull-downs.
  • Protection/power path:
    • USB-C VBUS reverse-current/reverse-polarity protection
    • OVP/UVLO/OCP load switch or eFuse sized for 0.5–3 A capable sources
    • Input TVS/ESD protection
    • 5 V to 3.3 V regulator sized from a proper power budget
  • Required support:
    • Decoupling on every IC power pin
    • I²C pull-ups
    • RF antenna keepout and layout constraints
    • USB-C ESD protection and safe current handling
    • Consumer-use protection margins and review checks
Next step when credits/tools are available: build the schematic from the USB-C power path through protection/regulation, MCU/radio, sensor, programming/debug, and then run review until clean before moving to PCB layout.
