  1. Open the component’s project page.
  2. Click Fork in the upper-right corner.
  3. Choose your workspace and give the fork a new name.
  4. Open the fork and edit its:
    • schematic symbol and terminals
    • footprint, pads, and hole sizes
    • component properties and manufacturer data
    • 3D model
  5. Save/publish the component, then use it in your schematic through the component library.
Forking creates an editable copy while leaving the original component unchanged. Since you only have comment access to this project, forking it into your own workspace is the appropriate workflow.
