PCB Design for Current Measurement

create a pcb that will measure current on a 220 voltage line. The pcb should be a module that connects to a arduino nano
I can’t modify the project right now because there are no available ACUs, so AI execution tools are unavailable. Nothing has been added yet; the project is still empty.
What remains to be done:
  • Define the current range to measure, e.g. 5 A, 10 A, 30 A, etc.
  • Choose a safe isolated sensing method for 220 VAC mains:
    • Recommended: current transformer clamp/split-core CT sensor
    • Alternative: isolated Hall-effect current sensor
    • Avoid non-isolated shunt sensing unless you have a certified mains-safety design
  • Design the Arduino Nano interface:
    • Analog output centered around 2.5 V for AC waveform sensing
    • Burden resistor / signal conditioning
    • Input protection and filtering
    • Screw terminals or CT jack connector
  • Add clear low-voltage / mains isolation boundaries on the PCB
  • Create schematic, PCB layout, and safety notes
For a hobbyist-safe Arduino Nano module, I’d recommend a current transformer-based design so the PCB does not directly sit in series with the 220 V line.
