IR Receiver Wiring Fixes

Interpreting wiring queries.

Analyzing IR_REC_2 wiring.

Proposing wiring fixes.

Assessing IR_REC_2 wiring.

Here’s how IR_REC_2 is wired right now:

Table

PinConnection
Vs (pin 3)Direct to +5 V with COMP_FILTER3 (Generic capacitor)
GND (pin 2)Ground rail
OUT (pin 1)Series R_PASS3 (10 kΩ) into the summing node; no shunt cap to ground
Is this correct for converting the digital pulses into an analog level? No:
  • You need a proper RC low-pass on the OUT pin:
    • Series resistor (e.g. 4.7 kΩ or your existing 10 kΩ)
    • Then a shunt capacitor (e.g. 100 nF) to ground at the node after the resistor
  • You also should decouple Vs with a dedicated 100 nF cap as close as possible to the receiver, in parallel with [COMP_FILTER3].
Recommended per-receiver changes:
  1. Add a 100 nF Capacitor from Vs to GND.
  2. Keep or adjust your series resistor on OUT (e.g. R_PASS3).
  3. Add a 100 nF Capacitor from the node after that resistor to GND.
Would you like to apply these fixes to IR_REC_2 (and across all receivers)?
