Understanding U1 Sensor Function

Please explain what @U1 does.
Component Overview: U1
A Passive Infrared (PIR) motion sensor that detects changes in infrared radiation (i.e., general movement) within its field of view and outputs a digital signal when motion is sensed.

GNDGround reference
DODigital output: HIGH when motion is detected
Usage in this design:
  • Power: U1’s VCC and GND pins power the sensor from the single-cell battery.
  • Motion Detection: When U1 senses movement, it asserts the DO pin.
  • Drive Action: The DO output is wired to the motor driver (M1) to activate the vibration motor upon motion detection.
