BMI270 Breakout PCB Design

Yes — I can help design a better BMI270 breakout, but I’m currently blocked because this session has no execution credits left, so I can’t edit the schematic or place components right now.
Current project state:

Recommended design direction for a “better than Adafruit” BMI270 breakout:
  • Bosch BMI270 6-axis IMU
  • I2C/SPI selectable interface
  • 1.8 V core rail support if required by the exact BMI270 variant
  • Onboard low-noise regulator if targeting 3.3–5 V input compatibility
  • Proper local decoupling on all BMI270 supply pins
  • Pull-ups sized for common I2C use, optionally jumper-selectable
  • Level shifting if supporting 5 V hosts
  • Interrupt pins broken out
  • Compact castellated or standard 0.1" header footprint
  • Clear pin labels, mounting holes, and orientation marker
  • Optional STEMMA QT/Qwiic connector support
  • ESD protection on external connector pins if you want it ruggedized
What remains to be done when credits are available:
  1. Rename the project and create a short design spec.
  2. Select the exact BMI270 part and verify the datasheet-recommended application circuit.
  3. Add BMI270, regulator/power-path parts, pull-ups, connectors, decoupling, and optional level shifters.
  4. Wire and verify the full schematic.
  5. Run design review/ERC and fix all issues.
  6. Create layout, place components, then pause for your approval before routing.
