Red LED Blinker Circuit Design

I’m blocked because this project currently has no available ACUs, so I can’t add or wire components yet.
Current project state:
  • New empty project
  • No components or nets added yet
  • Requested circuit: 1 Hz red LED blinker from a 9V block battery, with on/off switch, using hand-solderable parts
Recommended implementation when ACUs are available:
  • NE555 or TLC555 timer in astable mode, DIP-8 package
  • 9V battery clip
  • SPST through-hole slide/toggle switch
  • Red through-hole LED
  • Through-hole resistors and capacitors
  • Approximate 1 Hz timing using hand-solderable values, e.g. RA ≈ 10 kΩ, RB ≈ 68 kΩ, C ≈ 10 µF
  • LED current-limiting resistor sized for 9V operation, typically around 1 kΩ
What remains:
  • Add the 555 timer, battery connector, switch, LED, resistors, and capacitors
  • Wire the schematic
  • Verify the blink rate and LED current
  • Optionally create a beginner-friendly PCB layout for through-hole assembly
