The Texas Instruments CD4049UB and CD4050B are a family of CMOS Hex Inverting Buffers and Converters that feature logic-level conversion using only one supply voltage (Vcc). The CD4049UB variant offers inverting buffers, whereas the CD4050B provides noninverting buffers. Both devices are capable of driving two TTL loads directly, thanks to their high sink current capabilities. They are designed for high-to-low level logic conversion, CMOS to DTL or TTL Hex Converters, and can also serve as CMOS current sink or source drivers. These components are tested for quiescent current at 20 V and ensure a maximum input current of 1 µA at 18 V over the full package temperature range, with a significant reduction to 100 nA at 18 V and 25°C, making them suitable for power-sensitive applications. With 5-V, 10-V, and 15-V parametric ratings, they offer flexible options for various design requirements.
