"JC02 Rangefinder Circuit Capture" completed.
I resumed circuit capture, adding support components, connecting the USB programming/data-protection path, and adding OLED startup defaults. The project now contains 97 components and 25 nets, but the schematic is still incomplete and not build-ready.
Remaining work:
  • Finish charging, power regulation, battery-temperature protection, and Off/On/Settings switching.
  • Complete the five-wire rangefinder interface.
  • Verify connectivity, electrical ratings, and power consumption before the schematic checkpoint. PCB layout has not started.
Execution stopped because your ACUs ran out.

Execution Handoff
Stop condition
Execution stopped because the account ran out of ACUs. This is a partial-build handoff, not an electrical verification or manufacturing release.
Verified work this session
  • Renamed project JC02 Rangefinder Controller and set descriptive summary.
  • Inspected initially empty schematic: zero components and nets.
  • Created Project Specification (project-specification, short ID26), recording user requirements and physical arrangement.
  • Completed read-only architecture safety review (executor cw); incorporated findings into circuit-capture brief.
  • Dispatched complete electrical circuit capture (executor b5). Lifecycle returned active/interrupted; subsequently received completion notification, but its final report was not retrieved due ACU exhaustion. Do not equate completion notification with verified circuit completion.
  • Latest supplied project context reports30 components,20 nets,9 unique part types: Generic Capacitor, B3U-1000P, Generic Resistor, MAX17048G+T10, TYPE-C16PIN, B7B-PH-K-S(LF)(SN), PI3USB102GZLEX, LIS3DHTR, ESP32-S3-WROOM-1-N4R8. Counts are a snapshot, not a final inspection. No final ERC/DRC, connectivity or datasheet-rating verification was performed by the lead.
Recovery first actions
  1. Recover b5 final report and inspect current schematic/documents before making edits; current state may have progressed past snapshot. Avoid duplicating any files or parts already created.
  2. Independently inspect captured circuit, ERC and actual ratings; scope corrections to concrete findings. Preserve any specific missing-part or unavailable-data blocker in report.
  3. Finish each missing feature or explicitly document its individual blocker. Do not claim charger, switch, regulator, temperature protection or LRF interface complete merely from dispatch.
  4. Ensure selected parts, pin maps, power/current budget, USB/Off/charging truth tables and temperature window calculations are documented. Create/update bring-up and BLE compliance files if missing.
  5. Present electrical-capture checkpoint. User approved component selection and electrical capture only; schematic visual drafting and PCB layout remain separate approval points. No layout/routing/manufacturing release authorized yet.

Architecture gate findings
  • BQ24074 default103AT NTC permits approximately0–50C; series/parallel networks cannot tighten to5–45C. Use suitable programmable charger or always-powered hardware temperature-window charge inhibit, hysteresis and NTC open/short fail-safe. Firmware-only protection cannot operate while Off.
  • Proposed3.3V system buckboost and separate nominal3.5V LRF buckboost; module at nominal3.3V would have no lower-voltage margin. LRF peak demand remains unresolved. Full tolerance/transient/drop envelope must fit3.3–3.8V.
  • USB100mA startup alone does not establish compliance: legacy suspend budget2.5mA total, MCU off cannot enumerate, Type-C/BC1.2 entitlement requires actual detection. Hardware-safe input suspend on unidentified source while Off is acceptable documented fallback; charging while Off then source-dependent. Count all VBUS loads.
  • Off must physically isolate all system rails regardless USB; converter EN alone does not prove output disconnect. Check USB data/VBUS sense, gauge I2C,status,LRF signals and all powered-to-unpowered crossings. Ioff gating rather than series resistors alone for LRF isolation; enable hardware-default low.
  • Candidate BQ24074 system output can reach4.5V; regulators must tolerate this. MAX17048 on protected battery side, switched-domain I2C pullups.
  • Protected pack does not establish reversed-connector protection or exact fault limits. Total battery current including conversion losses at3.0V must remain under reported1.1A limit.
  • USB recovery boot/reset must be accessible; reserve boot straps and sufficient GPIO. Hardware contact truth table for Off/On/Settings must be verified against actual switch, not inferred from footprint.
Documentation status
Project Specification exists. Other files may have been created during b5 work; list before writing. This handoff intentionally records only observed results and unresolved verification, not assumed success.
