Plan
- Design a simple 9V battery-powered LED blinker circuit that makes a red LED blink once per second using easy-to-solder through-hole components including a 555 timer oscillator, on/off switch, and necessary passive components.

Power and Switching
- Add a battery connector for a 9V block battery.
- Place an on/off toggle or slide switch between the battery connector and the circuit power input.

Timer Oscillator
- Select and add a through-hole 555 timer IC to the schematic.
- Configure the 555 timer in astable mode by adding appropriate resistors and capacitors.
- Calculate and set resistor and capacitor values to achieve an approximate blink rate of 1 second on/off cycle.
- Connect decoupling capacitor near the 555 timer for power stability.

LED Circuit
- Add a 5mm red LED along with a current limiting resistor in series.
- Connect the LED output from the 555 timer such that the LED blinks per the computed frequency.

Schematic cleanup
- Label power and ground nets clearly.
- Group and annotate components for layman ease of soldering.

PCB Layout Preparation
- Ensure all components are through-hole and place them on the PCB layout for easy hand soldering.
- Position the battery connector and switch at the edge of the board for accessibility, along with the LED indicator.

- The circuit blinks a red LED once per second when powered by a 9V battery via a switch.
- All components are through-hole and arranged for easy hand soldering.
- The schematic and PCB layout pass ERC/DRC reviews with clean and clear net connections.
