LED Blinking Circuit Design

555 LED blinker schematic completed (9V, ~1 Hz) What I added (all hand-solder friendly)
  • 9V input: BT1
  • Power switch: S1
  • 555 timer (DIP-8): U1
  • Timing parts: R2, R4, C1
  • Decoupling/bulk: C2, C3
  • LED output: LED1 + series resistor R3
Key connections (astable + LED)
  • Power path: BT1 (P) -> S1 -> +9V rail -> U1 VCC
  • Astable timing:
    • U1 TR tied to THR, and to timing cap C1
    • R2 from VCC to DIS, R4 from DIS to TR/THR
  • LED blink:
Values / target behavior
  • Timing set for approximately 1 Hz using R2=10k, R4=100k, C1=100uF.
  • LED current limit: R3=680 ohm for a safe indicator-level current on 9V.
Verification
  • ERC checks I pulled show no undriven nets and no no-connect violations (clean for the requested categories).
