I’m blocked from making schematic/layout changes because execution credits are unavailable, so I could not add components, consult datasheets, wire the circuit, or run review checks.
Current project state:
No schematic changes made.
No components or nets added.
The project is still empty.
Recommended design plan when execution is available:
MCU/radio: ESP32-C6 or ESP32-S3 module with Wi-Fi 2.4 GHz 802.11 b/g/n + BLE 5.x.
Sensor: low-power digital I²C temperature/humidity sensor such as Sensirion SHT4x/SHTC3-class device.
Input: USB-C receptacle configured for 5 V default sink with CC pull-downs.
Protection/power path:
USB-C VBUS ESD/TVS protection.
Reverse-current / ideal-diode or load-switch protection.
OVP/UVLO/OCP-capable USB power-path/load switch sized for 0.5–3 A source capability.
5 V to 3.3 V regulator sized from a proper power budget.
Support circuitry:
Decoupling on every IC power pin.
I²C pull-ups.
ESP boot/reset circuitry per datasheet.
RF antenna keepout if using a module antenna.
Validation:
Datasheet-grounded schematic wiring.
ERC review until clean.
Power-budget documentation.
Then proceed to PCB layout only after schematic confirmation.
When credits are available, the next step is to build and verify the complete schematic first.
