The AEM10941, developed by e-peas semiconductors, is a highly efficient energy management integrated circuit designed for ambient energy harvesting from up to 7-cell solar panels. This component is specifically engineered to extend battery life or potentially eliminate the primary energy storage element in various wireless applications, including industrial monitoring, geolocation, home automation, e-health monitoring, and wireless sensor nodes. The AEM10941 features a dual-output system that simultaneously stores energy in a rechargeable element and supplies power at two independent regulated voltages, utilizing ultra-low power boost and buck converters. It supports a wide input voltage range from 50 mV to 5 V and features Maximum Power Point Tracking (MPPT) with configurable open-circuit voltage ratios. Additionally, the component integrates two Low Drop-Out (LDO) regulators with selectable output voltages, flexible energy storage management, and optional primary battery support for continuous operation. The AEM10941 is housed in a QFN 28-pin 5x5mm package and requires minimal external components, optimizing footprint and BOM for efficient design and rapid time-to-market.
