Work completed
  • Project description updated with modular three-board summary
  • System architecture defined and saved as Mermaid diagram
  • Key ICs added:
    • ESP32-WROOM-32 as U9
    • MCP3008-I/SL as U2
    • PCA9685 LED driver as U4
    • DHT22 sensor as U3
    • TLP281-4 optocoupler as U5
  • Power components added:
    • MP1584EN-LF-P 12 V→5 V buck converter as U10
    • SMBJ12A-13-F TVS diode as D2 (configured for 12 V stand-off, ≥600 W surge)
  • Supporting passives placed: generic resistors (6×) and capacitors (11×)
Tasks remaining
  • Add reverse-polarity Schottky diode (D1)
  • Add and configure slow-blow fuse (F1, 2 A, 12 V)
  • Place Raspberry Pi 40-pin header
  • Add JST-VH 3-pin power connectors and 2.54 mm stacking headers
  • Wire all nets between power, ICs, connectors, and headers
  • Complete schematic review for ratings and functional coverage
  • Prepare PCB layout (footprints, stackup, board sizes)
  • Generate ERC/DRC-clean Gerbers, BOM, PnP, and bring-up checklist
Can’t do
  • Picking/placing Schottky diode D1 for reverse-polarity protection
  • Picking/placing slow-blow fuse F1 and configuring its ratings
  • Adding Raspberry Pi 40-pin through-hole header (library part unavailable)
Success criteria
  • Schematics/layouts compliant with Seeed requirements: ❌ not yet met
  • Boards sized and ERC/DRC-verified: ❌ not yet met
  • Bring-up checklist created: ❌ not yet met
Next step
Pick and add the JST-VH 3-pin power connectors and the 2.54 mm stacking headers to your schematics so we can complete inter-board connectivity.
