Solar Input Protection

Build the solar input protection stage for a 12-80V DC solar pump controller:
  1. Add a 2-position screw terminal J1 (10.16mm pitch, 30A rated) for solar input. Pin 1 = net SOLAR_PLUS, pin 2 = net GND.
  2. Add a 15A blade fuse F1 from SOLAR_PLUS to net V_IN_FUSED.
  3. Add P-channel MOSFET Q1 (IRF9540N, -100V, -23A, TO-220) for reverse polarity protection: source to V_IN_FUSED, drain to net V_BUS_RAW, gate to net Q1_GATE.
  4. Add R1 100k 0603 from Q1_GATE to GND.
  5. Add two BZX84C12 Zener diodes D1A and D1B in series back-to-back (anodes joined) between Q1_GATE and V_IN_FUSED to clamp Vgs to ±12V.
  6. Add TVS diode D2 SMCJ80A from V_BUS_RAW (cathode) to GND (anode).
  7. Add bulk capacitors on V_BUS_RAW to GND: C1 = 100uF 100V electrolytic, C2 = 470uF 100V electrolytic through-hole, C3 = 10uF 100V X7R 1210.
I can’t make project changes right now because AI execution is unavailable due to no available ACUs.
Nothing has been added to the project yet; it is still empty. Remaining work is to add and wire the solar input protection stage: J1 screw terminal, F1 blade fuse, IRF9540N reverse-polarity MOSFET, gate pull-down, back-to-back 12 V Zeners, SMCJ80A TVS, and the three V_BUS_RAW bulk capacitors.
