Explaining the EDA tool Import Limitations.

I can help migrate from those KiCad files, but I can’t directly import the full schematic/project from .kicad_sch + .kicad_pro into this Flux project.
Here’s why:
  • Flux’s part import flow is for EDA library files like .kicad_sym and .kicad_mod, not full KiCad design files like .kicad_sch or .kicad_pro
  • For uploaded EDA design files, the expected workflow is to parse/extract design data and then help with migration/recreation, rather than one-click full schematic import
So the practical answer is:

What I can do

OptionWhat happens
Import library partsIf you upload .kicad_sym or .kicad_mod files, those can be imported as reusable Flux parts/projects via the supported import flow
Recreate the design in FluxI can use the KiCad design files as reference and help rebuild the schematic/layout in Flux
Extract design data firstI can parse the KiCad files to identify blocks, nets, and main parts, then turn that into a migration plan
What blocks doing it “here”
  • This current project is read-only for me, so I can’t populate it directly.
  • Also, the files you uploaded are design files, not the supported library files for direct @import use
Fastest path
If you want this usable in Flux, the best next step is:
  1. Upload the KiCad library files too, if you have them:
    • .kicad_sym
    • .kicad_mod
  2. Or I can help you create a new Flux project and rebuild the design from the uploaded KiCad schematic/project files.
If you want, I can do either of these next:
  • extract the component/net structure from the uploaded KiCad files and summarize what needs to be rebuilt
  • prepare a new-project migration prompt so you can recreate the design in an editable Flux project
