Buck Converter Recommendations

Here are five Texas Instruments-based buck regulators that can be set to a 3.3 V output over wide input ranges. Pick the one(s) that best fit your input-voltage span, current requirement and layout constraints:

Recommendations:
  • For moderate current (≤ 3 A) and 4.5–40 V rails, use LMR14030SDDAR or TPS54302DDCR (both easily set to 3.3 V).
  • If you need a module for rapid prototyping, the LM2596 board is ubiquitous.
  • For very high input (up to 100 V) at light loads (≤ 1 A), choose the LM5164DDA.
  • For high-current applications (tens of amps), consider the TPS53355.
Let me know which one(s) you’d like to place into your schematic, and I can add them for you.
Add LMR14030SDDAR
Add TPS54302DDCR
Add LM5164DDA
Add TPS53355DQPR
Add both mid-range bucks
