New Model Design Review

Place components in these functional zones:
ZONE 1 — Power section (bottom-left corner, 0-25mm x 0-30mm):
  • AP63205 buck regulator with L1 inductor immediately adjacent to SW pin
  • AP2112K LDO and AMS1117 isolated LDO
  • DMP2045U reverse polarity MOSFET
  • F1 polyfuse at the very edge nearest J_PWR connector
  • CM1 common mode choke between J_PWR and F1
  • C_HU 1000uF holdup capacitor
  • All TVS diodes near their respective rails
  • Bulk decoupling caps
ZONE 2 — MCU (center of board, 35-65mm x 30-55mm):
  • Teensy 4.1 socket SOCK1 — USB-C end facing toward the nearest board edge
  • J_USB and J_ESP USB-C connectors at board edge
  • SW_BOOT and SW_RST buttons adjacent to ESP32
  • J_UART1, J_UART2, J_I2C headers near Teensy
ZONE 3 — CAN and VR conditioners (top-right, 65-100mm x 50-80mm):
  • U2A, U2B, U_CT MCP2562 transceivers grouped together
  • U3, U4 MAX9926 VR conditioners adjacent
  • CM_CAN common mode choke on CAN traces
  • J_CRK, J_CAM, J_CAN2, J_WBO2 connectors at right board edge
ZONE 4 — Injector drivers (left side, 0-50mm x 30-65mm):
  • U5, U6 MC33814 ICs — exposed pad must connect to GND pour via via-in-pad
  • Q1-Q8 IRLZ44N in a neat row below U5/U6, drain toward top
  • R1-R8 current sense resistors between MOSFET drain and connector pads
  • D1-D8 flyback diodes parallel with injector outputs
  • J_INJ1-8 connectors at left board edge, right angle
ZONE 5 — COP ignition drivers (left side below injectors, 0-50mm x 0-30mm):
  • Q9-Q16 IRLZ44N in a row matching injector layout above
  • R9-R16 gate resistors close to MOSFET gates
  • D9-D16 SMBJ30A TVS clamps at drain
  • J_COP1-8 connectors at left board edge, right angle
ZONE 6 — DBW and boost (center-left, 25-55mm x 55-80mm):
  • U7A, U7B DRV8871 H-bridges with decoupling caps immediately adjacent
  • Q17 boost MOSFET, D17 flyback, R_B1 gate pull-down
  • J_DBW, J_BST connectors at top board edge, right angle
ZONE 7 — ADC and sensors (right side, 65-100mm x 15-50mm):
  • U8A, U8B MCP3208 ADCs with U9A, U9B TL431 references adjacent
  • U_ESP ESP32 module with antenna overhanging right board edge
  • J_SEN, J_PWR connectors at board edges, right angle
ZONE 8 — Indicators (top-right corner near USB):
  • LED1 red, LED2 green, LED3 amber with their current limit resistors

Linking components for clarity.

I can’t place those zones in this current project because you don’t have edit access here, so the right move is to start a new editable project with your placement constraints preloaded: Create Nightfire ECU Layout Project
Open that project and I can continue from there.
Auto-place by zones
Check placement issues
Tighten decoupling placement
