The selected object is not a terminal pin in this project - it is C4, a 10 uF generic capacitor used as the bulk capacitor for the ESP32-C3 3.3 V rail. In other words, C4 helps keep the module’s supply voltage stable during current spikes and transient load changes. Per the project-explanation guidance, the right way to describe it is to report what is actually present in the design, with concrete values
What C4 does
  • Acts as a bulk decoupling / reservoir capacitor on the 3V3 rail
  • Supplies short bursts of current when the ESP32-C3’s internal circuitry switches quickly
  • Reduces rail droop, ripple, and transient noise
  • Works alongside smaller high-frequency decoupling capacitors, if present
Electrical characteristics of C4
From the schematic data:
  • Capacitance: 10 uF
  • Type: Non-polarized capacitor
  • Package: 0805 SMD
  • Role: Bulk capacitor for ESP32-C3 power rail 3V3
Special considerations for proper usage
  • It should be connected directly across 3V3 and GND
  • It is most effective when placed close to the module’s power input
  • Keep the connection path to power and ground short and low impedance
  • A bulk capacitor like this is best for lower-frequency / larger transient energy storage; it does not replace a nearby 100 nF-class high-frequency bypass capacitor
  • Since no nets are currently defined in this part project, C4 is present as a support component, but its exact connectivity is not shown yet
Important correction
If you meant the module pin labeled C4 in the ESP32-C3-MINI-1 package map, that is a different thing from schematic component C4. In the Espressif datasheet, package location C4 corresponds to IO4 / GPIO4, which is:
  • a bidirectional digital I/O
  • also usable as ADC1_CH4
  • also multiplexed with FSPIHD and MTMS
  • not identified as a boot strapping pin in the datasheet
For that module pin, the datasheet-retrieved characteristics are:
  • Pin capacitance: 2 pF typ
  • VIH: min 0.75 x VDD
  • VIL: max 0.25 x VDD
  • VOH: min 0.8 x VDD
  • VOL: max 0.1 x VDD
  • Internal weak pull-up: 45 kOhm typ
  • Internal weak pull-down: 45 kOhm typ
  • Source current: 40 mA typ
  • Sink current: 28 mA typ
If you want, I can also give you a pin-level explanation of module pad C4 / GPIO4 separately from the capacitor C4.
