TPS2116 Breakout Board Design

Your goal is a U1 breakout board with a 5 V primary input, 3.7 V Li-ion secondary input, through-hole I/O, and the existing J2 tied to the primary input.
  • I’ve created the plan.
  • It covers:
    1. Adding through-hole input/output connectors
    2. Connecting VIN1 to the 5 V primary/USB path
    3. Connecting VIN2 to the battery input
    4. Updating the PCB for a compact breakout layout

    2. 3.7 V battery secondary input
    3. Through-hole primary, battery, output, and ground connections
    4. Reverse-polarity protection on the battery path with a P-channel MOSFET
