LCR Tester Design with USB-C

Work done
  • Rebuilt the AFE power/reference and created fresh excitation/measurement nets via explicit rewiring:
    • ^GND, ^3V3, ^AVDD, ^VREF2V5 using U7 and IC1
    • Excitation: U12 ^DDS_OUT -> U13 buffer, with FORCE drive staging through R11/R12
    • Kelvin protection nets on U15: ^FORCE_P/^FORCE_N/^SENSE_P/^SENSE_N
    • ADC filter entry nets: ^ADC_AIN0_FILT/^ADC_AIN1_FILT into U4 via R17/R18
    • VCM bias net: ^VCM_1V65 using divider R15/R16 and caps C18/C19
  • Implemented DDS SPI wiring U12 -> U3: FSYNC/SCLK/SDATA.
  • Attempted to correct an incorrect merge of ADS1120 AIN0/REFP1 with the reference rail by moving it to ^ADC_AIN0_FILT.
Success criteria review
  • ❌ Netlist remains unstable: a legacy/unnamed net (reported as MEAS_NODE_B / unnamed net) repeatedly re-merges power (3V3/DVDD), sensing, and measurement nodes despite explicit disconnect/connect operations, preventing completion of FORCE/SENSE routing, calibration OPEN/SHORT/LOAD wiring, and clean ERC.
  • ❌ ERC/DRC clean: DRC airwires and missing project documentation remain; ERC also becomes unreliable due to the net merge.
  • ✅ DDS SPI connectivity between U12 and U3 is in place.
Next steps
  • This project needs a manual schematic cleanup step to remove the legacy net portals/labels that keep re-introducing MEAS_NODE_A/B (and any duplicated power portals), then I can re-run the wiring cleanly.
  • After that, run Auto-Layout (I cannot route) to clear DRC airwires, and add a project document to clear the documentation DRC.
