Analyzing High Current Reading

I’m currently unable to open or analyze the attached PDF because execution credits are exhausted, and no project tools can be run.
Current project state:
  • The project is still empty: 0 components, 0 nets.
  • No schematic or layout changes have been made in this session.
  • The attached document has not been inspected yet.
About the current reading:
  • 00.079 A means 0.079 A, which is 79 mA.
  • Whether 79 mA is “high” depends on the circuit: for a small sleep-mode sensor board it is high, but for an active MCU, LEDs, relay coil, regulator losses, or radio module it may be normal.
What remains to be done once analysis can continue:
  1. Open the PDF and identify the power architecture and expected current paths.
  2. Check the specified input voltage, regulators, loads, LEDs, pullups, ICs, and any always-on circuits.
  3. Compare the measured 79 mA against datasheet expected currents.
  4. Identify likely causes such as:
    • LED/resistor current
    • MCU or module not entering sleep
    • Regulator quiescent/load current
    • Short or low-resistance path
    • Incorrect resistor values
    • Reverse/leakage through protection devices
    • Peripheral ICs permanently enabled
  5. Provide a specific debug checklist with measurement points and expected values.
A quick first check you can do now: measure resistance between the main power rail and GND with power off. If it is very low, there may be a short or unintended load.
