LF section
  • LF input positive feeds L1 0.3 mH series, then L2 2.7 mH series, then Woofer positive.
  • C1 21 uF shunts from the node between L1 and L2 to LF negative / Woofer negative.
  • LF negative connects directly to Woofer negative.
HF section
  • HF input positive feeds C2 16 uF series to node A.
  • Node A branches into two EQ/bypass paths that rejoin at node B:
    • C3 21 uF series with L3 0.77 mH.
    • C4 6 uF series with R4 3.9 ohm.
  • Node B feeds R1 2 ohm series, then R2 3 ohm series, then L-pad input node.
  • L-pad/output network shown with R3 2 ohm, R5 3 ohm, R6 30 ohm, and P1 marked 25 ohm / HF level pot in the pasted schematic.

Confirmed control-panel update
  • L-pads are AT-50H parts.
  • L-pads break out to a separate control panel rather than mounting directly on the crossover board.
  • Provide board connection points / lead pads for 14 AWG wiring to the remote L-pads.
  • There will be one HF adjustment L-pad and one MF adjustment L-pad; both break out to the separate control panel with 14 AWG leads.
  • BOM quantity is two AT-50H L-pads per crossover.
  • This supersedes the earlier provisional sketch label of P1 as 25 ohm.

Confirmed PCB implementation
  • Build as a manufacturable routed PCB, not only a hand-wired assembly board.
  • Use large 14 AWG solder points on the PCB for leads going to both remote AT-50H L-pads: HF and MF.
  • Route all crossover nets on the PCB where practical; unresolved airwires are not acceptable for final manufacturing output.
  • J1-J6 are custom PCB solder pads, not purchased connector parts, and should be excluded from the purchased BOM.
  • External L-pad BOM item: Speaker L-Pad Attenuator 50W Mono, 3/8 inch shaft, 8 ohm, Parts Express #260-252 / AT-50H; quantity 2 per crossover.
Clarification needed before final schematic capture
  • Confirm exact AT-50H terminal wiring by ohmmeter before final assembly: input terminal, output/wiper terminal, and return/shunt terminal.
  • Confirm whether LF/HF inputs remain separate bi-amp/bi-wire inputs or should be tied for single input operation.
  • MF L-pad breakout is required the same way as the HF L-pad breakout.
Assembly / layout rules from attachment
  • L2 2.70 mH large woofer coil: lay flat on board, spool opening points up/down.
  • L1 0.30 mH small woofer coil: stand vertically, center hole oriented left/right.
  • L3 0.77 mH horn EQ coil: stand vertically, rotated 90 degrees from L1, center hole oriented front/back.
  • Keep at least 4 inches clear space between physical edges of L2 and L1.
  • Use non-ferrous inductor fasteners: nylon zip ties, high-temp hot glue, 100% silicone adhesive, or brass screws. Avoid steel/iron screws.
  • Mount wirewound resistors elevated slightly off the board and away from capacitors for heat clearance.
  • Keep remote control-panel L-pads clearly separated from board-mounted crossover passives in schematic, layout notes, and wiring documentation.
  • PCB layout must allow high-current speaker traces and adequate clearance around hot wirewound resistors and large inductors.
PCB physical footprint correction added 2026-07-14
  • C1 and C3 were split into real parallel BOM/PCB parts: C1/C3 = Dayton PMPC-10 10 uF, C1B/C3B = Solen PB1100 11 uF.
  • Generic 0603 placeholders were converted to through-hole lead pads for the film capacitors, 10 W wirewound resistors, and inductors.
  • J1-J6 are 7 mm custom through-hole solder pads with 2.2 mm holes for 14 AWG leads.
  • Public nominal body outlines added on top silkscreen: PMPC-10 45 x 22 mm, PB1100 38 x 28 mm, Solen 16 uF 45 x 29 mm, PMPC-6.2 31 x 22 mm, Dayton DNR resistors 48 x 10 mm, Jantzen R4 33 x 8.5 mm, LW14-30 47 x 28.5 mm, LW14-80 59 x 27 mm.
  • L2 SL2.7-18AWG dimensions are least certain: Madisound confirms the part but does not publish a clean mechanical drawing. The PCB uses a conservative large outline based on the closest public data; verify against the purchased coil before fabrication.
PCB mechanical correction added 2026-07-14
  • J1-J6 were moved visibly inboard and enlarged to 8 mm through-hole solder pads with 2.6 mm drill holes for 14 AWG bare wire insertion.
  • J1-J6 have explicit top silkscreen labels identifying 14 AWG solder pad function.
  • Added 3.2 mm non-plated zip-tie holes around L1, L2, L3, and the large C1/C1B and C3/C3B film-capacitor stacks.
  • Copper was cleared and rerouted after these mechanical changes so routing respects the relocated solder pads and new tie-down holes.
