Controller Requirements User request
Build an ESP32 controller with 8 inputs and 8 outputs. Use optocouplers for both inputs and outputs. Specified input voltage: 12–36 V.
Current project state
The project is blank: no components or nets have been added. No parts have been researched, selected, or verified; no schematic or PCB work has been performed.
Clarifications needed before circuit design
  • Does 12–36 V describe the controller power supply, the digital input signal voltage, or both?
  • What loads will the outputs switch, at what voltage and maximum current per channel? Are isolated transistor/open-collector outputs acceptable, or are relay contacts required?
  • Must the field input/output grounds be galvanically isolated from the ESP32 power domain? Optocouplers alone ...
I saved your ESP32 controller requirements—8 optocoupled inputs, 8 optocoupled outputs, and a 12–36 V input range—in Controller Requirements; no components or wiring have been added yet.
Before building, I need to confirm whether 12–36 V applies to the power supply, input signals, or both; what voltage/current each output must switch; and whether the field wiring must be electrically isolated from the ESP32 supply.
Schematic and PCB execution require Agent mode; execution stopped because your ACUs ran out.
What is Agent mode?
Agent mode lets Flux build, do deep research, validate designs, and work through complex assignments.
Chat mode is just as smart and has the same engineering knowledge, but it cannot work autonomously.
Only Agent mode consumes your plan's included AI usage (measured in ACUs).

Next work
Resolve the electrical interface requirements, then choose the ESP32 variant and power architecture, size input protection and optocoupler drive for the confirmed voltage range, select load-appropriate optocoupler-controlled output drivers and protection, capture and verify the schematic, and proceed to PCB layout after schematic approval.
Session limitation
Execution stopped because the account ran out of ACUs. No design execution occurred in this session.
