2-Position Screw Terminal Inquiry

I can’t run auto-layout or modify the PCB right now because this account has no available ACUs, so AI execution features are unavailable.
So far in this session, the requested additions were clarified but not applied:
  • 2-position through-hole 5.08 mm screw terminal intended as J1.
  • WH-GM5 5G cellular LGA module intended as J2.
  • Nano-SIM slot intended as J3.
  • No confirmed schematic/layout mutations were completed in this session after those selections.
What remains:
  • Add J1, J2, and J3 to the schematic.
  • Wire WH-GM5 power, USB host interface, SIM interface, antenna/RF, reset/control, and required decoupling/protection.
  • Add or verify nano-SIM ESD protection and SIM pull-ups/caps per module datasheet.
  • Place the new components on the PCB.
  • Route required nets, especially USB differential pair and RF/SIM-sensitive traces.
  • Run DRC/ERC and layout checks.
Once ACUs are available again, I can analyze the current PCB state, decide whether placement, routing, or both are needed, and apply auto-layout automatically.
I can’t analyze or run auto-layout right now because this account has no available ACUs, so AI execution features are unavailable.
Current known state from this session:
  • J1 2-position through-hole 5.08 mm screw terminal was planned, but not added.
  • J2 WH-GM5 5G LGA module was planned, but not added.
  • J3 nano-SIM slot was planned, but not added.
  • No placement/routing changes were applied by me after those requests.
Remaining work once ACUs are available:
  • Inspect the schematic and PCB to confirm what is already placed/routed.
  • Add the missing J1/J2/J3 components if still desired.
  • Run placement if any components are unplaced or badly positioned.
  • Run routing if airwires remain.
  • Verify with DRC/ERC and fix any critical issues before manufacturing.

EZO Raspberry Pi HAT Design Notes
Requirements captured
  • Raspberry Pi HAT-style board using the existing 40-pin Pi header and /dev/i2c-1 only.
  • Four Atlas Scientific EZO module sockets: pH 0x63, DO 0x61, EC 0x64, RTD 0x66.
  • pH, DO, and EC use independent galvanically isolated I2C/power domains.
  • RTD is non-isolated in version 1.
  • No I2C mux, no extra Linux I2C bus, and no custom kernel driver.
  • Isolation domains must not share grounds or probe shields.
Selected schematic parts
  • I2C isolation: TI ISO1540/ISO1540DR class bidirectional I2C isolator, one per isolated pH/DO/EC channel.
  • Isolated power: RECOM RFM-0505S class 5V-to-5V isolated DC-DC converter, one per isolated channel.
  • LDO: MIC5365-3.3YD5 class 3.3V LDO for 3V3_HAT, isolated 3.3V rails, and RTD 3.3V rail.
  • EZO sockets: 6-pin 2.54mm header/socket placeholder. Mechanical fit and Atlas socket footprint must be manually confirmed.
  • Probe connectors: BNC female PCB connector placeholder for pH/DO/EC; RTD uses a 4-position terminal block placeholder.
  • Protection: main 750mA PPTC and 5V TVS diode on 5V_HAT.
Preliminary power budget
Exact EZO module current and chosen DC-DC converter efficiency must be verified from final datasheets. Initial sizing follows the user requirement: main fuse hold approximately 750mA to 1A, each isolated channel protected individually, and local 3.3V regulators used only for logic/module loads. This design is not fabrication-ready until component datasheets and footprints are reviewed.
Manual checks required before layout/manufacturing
  • Confirm Atlas EZO module pin order and socket footprint.
  • Confirm selected BNC/SMA/probe connector type for each probe.
  • Confirm RTD terminal block pitch and pin order.
  • Confirm ISO1540 pin names/pin order against the chosen purchasable MPN.
  • Confirm LDO EN/BYP/NC pin handling and required capacitors.
  • Confirm isolated DC-DC input/output capacitor recommendations and isolation spacing.
  • Confirm PCB isolation clearance and keepout/slot strategy before routing.
