Temperature and Humidity Sensor Node Design

I’m blocked from executing project changes right now because the session has no remaining execution credits, so I could not add components, consult datasheets, wire the schematic, or run review checks.
Current project state:
  • Empty project
  • 0 components
  • 0 nets
  • No schematic or PCB layout changes made yet
Recommended design plan when execution is available:
  • MCU/radio: ultra-low-power Wi-Fi + BLE 5.x module, likely ESP32-C6 / ESP32-C3-class module depending on availability and power targets.
  • Sensor: digital temperature/RH sensor over I²C, e.g. Sensirion SHT4x/SHTC3-class or equivalent consumer-grade sensor.
  • Power input: USB-C receptacle configured as 5 V sink with CC pull-downs for default USB-C current advertisement.
  • Protection: input fuse/eFuse or power-path protection with reverse-current blocking, OVP, UVLO, and OCP sized for 0.5–3 A-capable sources.
  • Regulation: protected USB-C 5 V rail feeding a high-efficiency 3.3 V regulator sized from a full power budget.
  • Support circuitry: decoupling for every IC, I²C pull-ups, boot/config resistors, programming/debug header, reset/user button if appropriate, status LED with low-current value.
  • RF/layout: antenna keepout, controlled placement around the Wi-Fi/BLE module, solid ground return, short decoupling paths.
  • Validation: datasheet-based schematic review, ERC cleanup, power-budget document, firmware pin map, and bring-up checklist before layout.
Nothing has been modified yet; the next step is to resume with component selection, datasheet review, schematic capture, and validation once execution credits are available.
