Electric Jacquard Controller Design

Here are serial-in, latched 8-bit “power shift register” candidates in the Flux library for driving 24 V solenoids. Based on best practices, you will still need a flyback clamp per coil.
Recommended 8‑bit power shift registers (serial-in, latched)

Guidance and next steps
  • Per best practices for solenoid drivers, include a flyback path on every coil. A simple diode clamp is fine; Zener/TVS clamps can speed release if needed.
  • For 128 channels, you will need 16 of any 8-bit device, daisy-chained.
  • Would you like me to pull the datasheets now to confirm which of these explicitly meet 24 V and 0.35 A continuous per channel, and then add your chosen family to the project?
