IL3185E TR13
The IL3185 and IL3122 from NVE Corporation are galvanically isolated, differential bus transceivers designed for bidirectional data communication on balanced transmission lines. Utilizing NVE's patented IsoLoop spintronic Giant Magnetoresistance (GMR) technology, these components offer a low-cost solution for RS-485 and RS-422 applications. The IL3185 is tailored for half-duplex RS-485 communication, supporting up to 32 devices on the bus with a data rate of up to 5 Mbps, and features a fail-safe mechanism that ensures a logic high output when the bus lines are open or floating. The IL3122, on the other hand, is designed for full-duplex RS-422 communication, also supporting up to 32 devices on the bus at a data rate of 5 Mbps with a fail-safe feature. Both devices are compatible with 3.3V and 5V input supplies, offer thermal shutdown protection, and are capable of withstanding up to +15kV ESD. They provide 2500 VRMS of isolation for one minute and feature a typical common-mode rejection of 20 kV/μs, making them suitable for applications in industrial control networks, building environmental controls, and other systems requiring reliable data communication in electrically noisy environments.
