Select the Component: Click on the component you want to name or rename. This action will highlight the component and show its current properties.

Open the Properties Panel: With the component selected, look to the properties panel, which usually appears on the right side of the screen. This panel displays various properties of the selected component, such as its designator, value, and other specific details.

Edit the Designator or Name: Find the field labeled "Designator" or sometimes just "Name" within the properties panel. This field denotes the identifier of the component on the schematic. If you're naming a component for the first time or changing its name, click inside this field.

Enter the New Name: Type the new name (designator) you want for the component. The convention for naming involves using a prefix that identifies the type of component followed by a unique number (e.g., R1 for the first resistor, C2 for the second capacitor). Ensure the name is unique within the schematic to avoid confusion.

Save the Change: After typing the new name, press Enter or click outside the text box to apply the change. The schematic will now reflect the new name for the chosen component.
