32 Relay Control System Design

I can design this, but I can’t execute project changes right now because there are no available ACUs for AI actions.
Current project state:
  • New empty project: Sympathetic Pink P.K.E. Meter
  • Components: 0
  • Nets: 0
  • No schematic or PCB work has been created yet.
What remains to be done:
  • Define the system architecture for a 32-channel relay controller.
  • Select the controller type, likely ESP32 with Wi-Fi or Ethernet MCU/module, depending on reliability needs.
  • Add 32 relay driver channels with flyback protection.
  • Decide relay ratings based on your desk lights/electronic loads: AC voltage, current, and whether loads are mains-powered.
  • Add power supplies, isolation/clearance rules, connectors, protection, and status LEDs.
  • Create firmware/server command interface plan, such as MQTT, HTTP REST, or WebSocket.
  • Build schematic, PCB layout, and bring-up documentation.
Suggested architecture:
  • ESP32 or Ethernet-enabled MCU
  • 32 relay channels, preferably using relay driver ICs or transistor arrays
  • Opto-isolated or well-separated mains/load side
  • 12 V relay supply plus 3.3 V logic supply
  • MQTT/HTTP command protocol from server
  • Manual override and status feedback if needed
Before I design it, I’ll need these details:
  1. Are the desk lights/electronic systems AC mains or DC loads?
  2. What voltage/current per relay channel?
  3. Do you want Wi-Fi, Ethernet, or both?
  4. Should the relays be mechanical relays or solid-state relays?
  5. Is this for one PCB controlling all 32 relays, or multiple smaller boards?
