Schematic Handoff
Status at execution stop
The project was renamed ESP32-C3 2S Dual-Motor Controller. Initial inspection confirmed zero components, nets, or documents. Schematic capture has since added 46 components and 34 nets, per the latest project context. Capture completion notification arrived, but its final report and electrical checks were not retrieved before ACUs ran out. Do not treat the schematic as independently verified or ready for layout/manufacture. No layout work was requested or authorized.
Confirmed architecture and assumptions
- ESP32-C3 module, external protected/balanced 2S Li-ion battery (7.4 V nominal / 8.4 V full), external charger only.
- 3.3 V buck supply; motors powered from battery, assumed rated for full 8.4 V. Each motor requested up to 1 A; running versus stall current remains unconfirmed.
- Native USB Serial/JTAG programming; battery required during programming; no USB power sharing or charging. VBUS-controlled USB data isolation requested to address self-powered USB attachment behavior.
- Motor outputs must remain disabled at reset. Battery divider targets approximately 2.084 V at 8.4 V using 100k/33k with filtering, on a non-strap ADC1 pin.
- No enclosure, PCB placement, routing, or manufacturing deliverables.

Work already reviewed
An independent architecture risk review gave conditional permission to proceed. It highlighted C3 boot straps and ROM USB attach behavior; fail-safe motor enable; ADC source impedance/settling; regenerative motor transients when pack protection disconnects; simultaneous-channel thermal/current margins. DRV8848 was selected as the preferred capture direction for greater voltage margin than DRV8833. The reviewer did not inspect the resulting schematic.
Resume steps
- Retrieve the persisted capture completion report for executor
dd (brief Controller schematic capture / completion title ESP32-C3 Robot Controller Schematic). Its lifecycle last returned active; a later message says completed. Reconcile rather than duplicate the capture.
- Read existing specification/design-review documents and schematic. The capture brief required a Project Specification, capture plan, power budget, pin map, datasheet evidence, and detailed Schematic Design Review; their creation has not yet been verified by the lead.
- Independently review the complete schematic using a fresh read-only review: all power/ground pins, regulator circuit and ratings, motor current limits and thermal assumptions, TVS clamp versus component absolute maxima, USB switch orientation/enable behavior and ESD wiring, C3 boot/recovery, ADC voltage/settling, connector ratings, and actual ERC findings. Read actual automatic checks; do not infer a clean result.
- Send focused fixes to the original capture scope, then directly confirm the affected checks. Explicitly document any unavailable buck simulation model rather than claiming simulation validation.
- Scope checkpoint: electrical capture was requested without automatic schematic drafting in the capture brief. Inspect drawing state; if symbol arrangement/wire drafting remains and is desired, present that as a separate approval step with the applicable estimate. Never proceed into layout without user approval.
Execution stopped due to ACUs running out, not an identified platform failure. The final capture report and independent post-capture review remain unconfirmed.
