Flower LED PCB Sketch

The verified schematic is complete: 150 addressable LEDs, ESP32-C3 control, protected 5 V/3 A input, USB-C programming, level shifting, and firmware current limiting. Independent review found no critical electrical errors.
Next is the custom 300 × 170 mm organic flower outline and LED branch placement. Confirm and I’ll begin PCB layout.
Create the 300 × 170 mm organic flower outline and place the LEDs into the rising branch pattern.
I’ll create the 300 × 170 mm organic flower board outline, then place the ten 15-LED branches into the rising canopy pattern while keeping the controller, power input, and antenna constraints in the base.

The custom outline is being built and the repeated LED/capacitor pairs are being distributed across the ten tendrils. After that I’ll check every footprint against the irregular board boundary and antenna keepout.

Power Budget
Supported Limits
  • 150 LEDs x 60 mA theoretical legacy worst case = 9 A at 5 V (45 W), unsupported.
  • Firmware LED allocation = 2.5 A maximum.
  • Normal animation target = 1–2 A.
  • ESP32 3.3 V rail budget = 500 mA peak minimum.
  • External input connector/path = at least 3 A continuous; 4 A fuse.

  • F1 is Littelfuse 0451004.MRL, 4 A non-resettable; unlike a high-resistance PPTC it does not intentionally consume large 5 V headroom at 3 A.
  • Q1 is a low-RDS(on) P-channel MOSFET reverse-polarity stage; final layout must use wide copper and verify orientation/body diode.
  • D1 is SMAJ5.0A-Q, a unidirectional 5 V TVS placed after the fuse.
  • USB VBUS and protected external 5 V feed CTRL_5V through separate PMEG2010AET Schottky diodes, preventing backfeed.
Capacitance
  • 1000 uF at the protected 5 V entry.
  • 100 uF per 15-pixel branch.
  • 100 nF per pixel.
  • TPS62162 application values: 10 uF input, 22 uF output and 2.2 uH inductor.
Thermal Checks
An LDO at 5 V to 3.3 V and 0.5 A would dissipate 0.85 W, excessive for a small package. The synchronous buck avoids that loss; at 90% efficiency its conversion loss at 1.65 W output is about 0.18 W. Input MOSFET dissipation is I^2R; final review must confirm RDS(on) at approximately -5 V gate drive and provide adequate copper.
Operating Policy
Firmware scales every rendered frame so estimated RGB channel current remains <=2500 mA. Default brightness should target roughly 1500 mA. External 5 V is required before enabling LED output.
