Work done
  • Resized the layout to 80 mm x 62 mm with 2 mm corner radius and 1.5 mm board inset margin, creating a compact hand-solder-friendly envelope around the placed parts
  • Placed all required components: J1, SW1, U1, LED1, R1, R2, R3, C1, C2, and C3
  • Arranged J1 on the lower edge for battery access, SW1 on the top edge for operation, U1 centrally, the timing network around U1, and LED1 with R3 near the outer edge for visibility
  • Verified placement completed with 0 overlaps, 0 bounds violations, and 0 unplaced components
Success criteria review
  • ✅ The layout was resized to a compact envelope around the component area; final placed aggregate bounds are about 72.8 mm x 58.35 mm inside an 80 mm x 62 mm board
  • ✅ All requested components were placed ergonomically with accessible edge placement for J1 and SW1, plus comfortable spacing for manual soldering
  • ✅ Review confirms the schematic-side connectivity is intact and all footprints are present; placement itself is clean and assembly-friendly
  • ❌ The board is not yet routed. Current airwires are expected until traces are added, and there are 2 overlapping-copper checks associated with J1's footprint pads that should be reviewed during routing cleanup
Next steps The compact board and placement are done. Next I can route the PCB and then clean up the remaining J1 copper issue if you want.
