Dual Frequency RFID Reader Design

Build a USB C Powered and PC connected Dual Frequency RFID Reader/Scanner with LED confirmation light and configuration software to go with it
I’m blocked from making project changes right now because execution credits are unavailable, so I have not added components, wiring, layout, or firmware files to the project yet.
What remains to build:
  • Define RFID requirements: likely LF 125 kHz + HF 13.56 MHz dual-frequency reader, USB-C powered, USB data connection to PC, and LED confirmation output.
  • Select datasheet-backed parts: USB-capable MCU, RFID front ends/modules for both frequencies, USB-C receptacle/protection, 3.3 V regulator, antennas/coils or antenna connectors, status LED, and programming/debug connector.
  • Create schematic with USB-C power/data, ESD protection, power regulation, MCU, RFID interfaces, antenna networks, LED, decoupling, and required pull-ups/boot/debug circuitry.
  • Run electrical review and simulations/checks for the power path and antenna/front-end circuits.
  • After schematic approval, proceed to PCB sizing, placement, routing, DRC cleanup, and manufacturing outputs.
  • Add a starter PC configuration/software plan: USB CDC/HID protocol, commands for reader configuration, LED/test controls, and example desktop utility structure.
Recommended next clarification before design starts: confirm the two RFID frequencies/protocols you need, e.g. 125 kHz EM4100/HID Prox and 13.56 MHz ISO14443A/MIFARE/NFC.
