For USBLC6-2SC6 terminal I/O1_IN, the typical datasheet-style use is simple: it connects directly to the external high-speed signal line being protected, usually the connector-side USB D+ or D− line.

Required/supporting connections:

I/O1_IN: connect to the exposed/connector-side signal line.
I/O1_OUT: connect to the protected IC-side continuation of the same signal.
GND: connect to the PCB ground plane with the shortest, lowest-inductance path possible.
VBUS: connect to the USB/bus supply rail when protecting USB-style interfaces, so the internal clamp has the correct reference.
Bypass capacitor: no bypass capacitor is required specifically on I/O1_IN; if VBUS is present, place normal local VBUS-to-GND decoupling near the connector/ESD area as part of the USB power design.
Pull-up / pull-down resistors: none are required for I/O1_IN by the TVS device. Any USB pull-ups/pull-downs are determined by the USB controller or Type-C/USB interface requirements, not by the USBLC6-2SC6 itself.
