Blinking LED Circuit Design


  • Connected B1:POSITIVE to S1:COM
  • Connected S1:NO, D1:A, D1:K, U1:VCC, C2:P1, C3:P1, U1:R

What I built (through-hole 9V NE555 LED blinker) Added parts (all through-hole)
  • 9V battery connector: B1
  • On/off SPST switch: S1
  • Reverse-polarity series Schottky diode (optional but included): D1
  • NE555 DIP-8 timer: U1
  • Timing network for ~1 Hz: R1, R2, C1
  • Supply filtering: C2 (0.1 uF decoupling), C3 (bulk)
  • LED output: LED1 + series resistor R3
Wiring summary
  • Power path: B1 POS -> S1 -> D1 -> U1 VCC, with C2 and C3 across VCC/GND.
  • Astable: U1 TR+THR with C1, and R1/R2 to DIS/VCC.
  • Output: U1 OUT -> R3 -> LED1 -> GND.
Current blockers vs Success Criteria
  • ERC still reports Missing Power on U1. The VCC pin is connected, but Flux is not recognizing the battery/switch/diode net as a valid “power source” for ERC yet (likely needs a recognized power-port/power-source symbol).
  • DRC reports Manufacturer Part Number errors for the generic passives: R1, R2, R3, C1, C2, C3. To clear this, we need to either (a) assign MPNs, or (b) disable/relax that check for prototyping.
If you want, I can fix both by (1) adding a proper power-source symbol/portal so ERC recognizes VCC as powered, and (2) swapping the generic passives to specific through-hole MPN parts so the MPN DRC passes.
