Critical Analog Routing Cleanup
Scope result
Routing-only review and cleanup of the critical low-noise analog nets. No schematic, footprint, value, component placement/layer, board outline, or stackup changes were made. GND and DGND routing was not modified.
Item status
1. U6 gain/clipping feedback — unattempted mutation; inspected and left connected
  • Summing/inverting net: PCB Net 25 (GAIN_INV): U6:-INA, R13, C16, D3, D4, and VR1.
  • Drive/output side: PCB Net 26 (DRIVE_OUT): U6:OUTA, R14, C16, D3, D4, and C17.
  • The U6-to-C16/R13 branches are already direct and local. The total loop length is dominated by fixed placement: D3/D4/R14 are roughly 7–17 mm below U6, while VR1 is roughly 25 mm away in the opposite direction. Rerouting without moving these parts would not materially localize the full loop and risked degrading the fully connected board.
2. U6 recovery feedback — unattempted mutation; inspected and left connected
  • Feedback/summing net: PCB Net 8 (REC_FB): U6:-INB, R19:P1, and R20:P2.
  • Output-side net: PCB Net 36: U6:OUTB, R19:P2, and C1.
  • The U6:-INB → R19 path is direct. The remaining approximately 18 mm is set primarily by R20 being fixed at x≈46.17 mm while U6 is at x≈26.81 mm. No shorter safe corridor was evident without placement changes.
3. VREF local group — unattempted mutation; inspected and left connected
  • PCB net: Net 24 (VREF), including U6:+INB, R20:P1, C12, C13, C18, R12, R16, R18, and R22.
  • The U6 local VREF branch is already short. The long R20 branch is placement-constrained on the far right side of the large S1 footprint; a direct replacement path could not be established safely without disturbing other routing or placement.
4. Guitar input path — failed improvement attempt; original routing restored
  • PCB net: Net 17 (JACK_IN_TIP): CN2:T, K1:COM1, and R6:1.
  • The existing approximately 147 mm route was surgically removed for a direct reroute attempt. CN2:T → R6:1 routed successfully, but K1:COM1 → CN2:T/R6:1 returned blocked-no-path twice in the live congested geometry.
  • The attempted changes were atomically reverted to the pre-attempt state, preserving the original connected route and zero airwires.
5. Effect output path — unattempted mutation; inspected and left connected
  • PCB net: Net 14 (JACK_OUT_TIP): CN1:T to K1:NO1.
  • The fixed endpoints are approximately 78 mm apart, essentially the reported route length, so there is no meaningful routing-only shortening available.
6. +9V_CLEAN width — completed
  • PCB net: Net 3 (+9V_CLEAN), UID cb40f1b8-479e-4254-8c20-708192da66a4.
  • Applied minTraceWidth = 0.6 mm to the net without changing topology.
  • Live layout SVG readback shows every Net 3 route segment at stroke-width="0.6" on both Top and Bottom copper.
Verification
  • Live routing state: 0 airwires, 0 dangling traces.
  • Current DRC query was run for airwires, dangling traces, overlapping copper, overlapping traces, invalid layers, floating copper, and under-connected vias; it returned no matching violations at 2026-08-24T20:53:20.806Z.
  • The routing preflight tool still returns the pre-existing generic BOARD_DEFINITION_GENERIC board-validation error without a specific affected node. No board-definition change was made because the task explicitly prohibited board outline/stackup changes.
  • No new vias were added.
