Here’s how the two netlists fit into the typical EDA flow:

In practice:
- You draw and wire components in the schematic, generate its netlist, then push that into the PCB to get the layout netlist.
- The PCB tool uses the layout netlist to show airwires and enforce DRC while you route copper to satisfy the schematic connectivity.
