PCB Design Progress Update

I’m blocked because there are no available ACUs, so I can’t continue routing or final verification.
Accomplished this session:
  • Read the new attachment and kept the corrected 100 mm × 70 mm, 2-layer board.
  • Verified the AP63203 power circuit and fixed the blocker:
    • C6 is now between BST_3V3 and SW_3V3.
    • SW connects to U2 SW, C6 P2, and L1 P1.
    • FB remains connected to 3V3 after L1.
    • VIN/EN remain tied to 5V.
  • Moved C6/C7 and the buck support parts back onto the PCB in a compact cluster.
  • Cleared the autorouter precheck blockers from overlapping pins and antenna-keepout intrusions.
  • Confirmed the autorouter precheck reported the board valid before routing.
Open items:
  • Autorouting did not complete because ACUs ran out.
  • The autorouter also reported one placement anomaly: “Board fully placed. Move components to be placed outside the boundary.”
  • Final ERC/DRC/airwire checks are still not complete.
  • Manufacturing review/BOM/footprint caveats still need updating.
Suggested next steps:
  1. Add ACUs, then rerun autoroute from the current state.
  2. If the placement anomaly persists, slightly relax/spread the dense ESP32/TFT/encoder region without changing the 100 mm × 70 mm board.
  3. Run ERC/DRC/airwire checks and fix remaining issues.
  4. Update the manufacturing review and explicitly list footprints requiring physical verification.

DeskNeuron V0.1 Project Specification
Compact USB-C powered desktop macro pad PCB.
Core requirements
  • 130 mm × 90 mm rectangular 2-layer PCB, 1.6 mm FR4.
  • ESP32-S3-WROOM-1 bare module, PCB antenna version, left-side placement with antenna keepout respected.
  • USB-C receptacle for USB 2.0 power/data only; no battery, charger, boost, or USB-PD controller.
  • 3.3 V regulator rated at least 700 mA, 1 A preferred.
  • 6 MX mechanical switches with Kailh-style MX hot-swap sockets, direct GPIO wiring, no matrix/diodes.
  • 2 EC11 vertical through-hole encoders with push switches, external pullups and optional debounce capacitor footprints.
  • 7-pin 2.54 mm through-hole SPI TFT header for ST7789/ST7789VW module.
  • Mounting holes at (20,20), (110,20), (20,70), (110,70), M2.5 / 2.7 mm drill.

  • K1 GPIO1, K2 GPIO2, K3 GPIO3, K4 GPIO4, K5 GPIO5, K6 GPIO6.
  • TFT SCK GPIO12, MOSI GPIO11, RST GPIO8, DC GPIO9, CS GPIO10.
  • ENC1 A GPIO13, B GPIO14, SW GPIO15.
  • ENC2 A GPIO16, B GPIO17, SW GPIO18.
  • USB D- GPIO19, D+ GPIO20.
  • BOOT button GPIO0.
Manufacturing cautions
The USB-C connector footprint and EC11 encoder footprint must be verified against the exact purchased parts before ordering boards. Any generic or approximate footprint must be marked as temporary until checked against a datasheet or measured sample.
