To build a 124-pin mini-PCI adapter we need two things:
- The mini-PCI card-edge socket itself
- Your chosen “break-out” connector(s) on the other side
I have a few questions so we pick the right parts and net-out correctly:
- On the adapter’s input side, we’ll use the TE 440360-2 card-edge Mini PCI SODIMM 124-pin socket. Is that correct?
- How do you want to break out those 124 pins? Common options are:
- Two 2×31 2.54 mm male headers (one per row)
- One 2×62 0.1″ header
- Individual test pads at 2.54 mm spacing
- A ribbon-cable IDC connector (e.g. 2×62 IDC)
- Do you need power rails (5 V, VCC, VCCQ, GND) grouped separately (e.g. with bulk capacitors or screw terminals)?
- Any mechanical constraints (board dimensions, mounting holes, keep-out areas)?
Once I know which break-out connectors and mechanical requirements you need, I can:
- Pull the socket and headers from the Flux library
- Add all 124 nets in the schematic and connect them
- Lay out the PCB footprint with proper edge-card clearance and breakout
